The rebels now in power in Syria said on Thursday they want to have warm ties with all countries, as they thanked several states for maintaining operations at their embassies in Damascus.

They thanked Egypt, Iraq, Italy and several Gulf states for resuming the work of their diplomatic missions in the capital. They also welcomed promises by Qatar and Turkey to reopen their embassies soon.
The Czech Republic said on Thursday that it wants to reopen its embassy in Damascus as soon as possible.
A rebel alliance led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has been taking control of government entities in Damascus.
HTS is designated as a terrorist group by several Western powers - including the United States and the European Union - but since its victory it has attempted to present a moderate face.
